The Rossignol Team hits the Kootenays

My whole life I have dreamed of a trip like this one. A road trip through the Kootneys linking epic cat ski trip to epic cat ski trip.
The trip started with a drive from Whistler to Nelson in my new truck with my sled in the back and Dana Flahr in the passenger seat. The first stop on the Kootenay tour was Baldface cat skiing with The North Face crew. After three days of shredding waist deep blower pow we were fired up on how the trip had started off.
The next leg of the trip took Sage and I 20min down the road to another Cat/Heli operation called SnowH20, there we met up with the Rossignol crew (Kye Peterson, Austin Ross, and Mike Hopkins. Our mission for the next 10 days was to shoot Photo’s for next years Rossi adds and to film for TV and the web. The first day at SnowH20 was blower pow and the stoak was high. That night it got warm and the blower pow turned to heavy wet pow and that turned the Avi danger to extreme. No longer was it possible to just shoot pow shots, we had to get creative so we built kickers off the cat track into the trees. The session was sick, the crew wnt off and everyone got a sick shot or two.
After SnowH20 we had a couple of days before heading up to Valhalla powder cats so we shredded the s#%t out of White Water resort, doing car laps and bagging vert. We quickly got our weak cat legs back into shape by doing tons of fast lift access tree laps. It kicked ass being able to shred speed laps on the resort with the crew, it’s not often we all get to do that together.
The next couple days of the trip was at Valhalla powder cats and it proved to be the best couple days of skiing we had so far. Valhalla has such fun terrain, there are tons of cool features to jump off and some big hucks with perfect landings. The snow was perfect and the crew went off, by the time we left Valhalla there was bomb holes everywhere.
At the end of day two in Valhalla we all piled into our trucks and headed North to Revelstoak were the final leg of the trip will go down. Tonight we rest at famous freeride sleder Rob Alfords B&B, tomorrow we shred Revelstoak resort. Road tripinSnowH20the-mine-ratHopkins outhouse jibthe-boysValhallathe-crew
